As 2024 comes to an end, we’d like to take a look back at how the year has unfolded for the Air Physiotherapy team.

The move to Marylebone

In November 2023 we expanded operations to extend our presence from the UNTIL Soho location to their Marylebone site, and over the year this has become our primary site. This central location has been well-received providing easier access for many clients. We’ve also welcomed Ruth to the team. She joined us in June and offers increased flexibility, including a greater flexibility of home visits, which complements our other services. Her addition has allowed us to accommodate more patients and provide tailored support.

Managing POTS and long COVID

We’ve seen an increase in referrals to Air Physiotherapy for patients with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), particularly among those with long COVID. The expertise within our team for helping patients manage their symptoms has been recognised by cardiologists and consultants who have increased their referrals to us as a result. This complements our ongoing work with patients experiencing breathing pattern disorders, respiratory conditions, and exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction.

Commitment to excellence

We work incredibly hard as a team to maintain consistent, high-quality care across all our services. Regular training ensures everyone on the team is equally skilled, allowing us to address a diverse range of conditions effectively, no matter which of our respiratory physiotherapists a patient sees. We also believe in professional collaboration, referring clients to other specialists when needed, which is all part of our commitment to holistic care.

Breathing MOT extending into the corporate world

Our Breathing MOT has been a key area of focus this year. We’ve been actively engaging with corporate clients, highlighting how breathing patterns can be impacted by workplace stress. This includes offering diagnostic sessions, workshops and lunchtime talks to help employees understand and manage their breathing better.

This initiative aims to bring our expertise into the corporate space, enhancing workplace wellness. It’s an area we’re committed to expanding further in 2025.

Looking ahead to 2025

In 2025, we plan to grow our corporate offering for the Breathing MOT while continuing to provide excellent care for our individual clients. Efforts to strengthen professional connections and improve our social media presence will also play a role in reaching more people and sharing useful information.

The behind-the-scenes support from our administrative team has been invaluable. Their organisation keeps everything running smoothly, allowing us to focus on delivering exceptional care to our patients.

Final thoughts

From expanding our Marylebone presence to promoting the Breathing MOT, our focus for Air Physiotherapy has always been on helping more people breathe better and live healthier lives. With exciting plans for 2025, we look forward to continuing this momentum.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our patients, colleagues and our fantastic team for your continued support. We hope you have all had a very merry festive season and we wish you a wonderful 2025.
